Lotus

The American Lotus. Native to most of the North-Eastern United States, this is one of the more vigorous Lotus species. When well established it will produce vast numbers of large, bright yellow flowers, which it holds several inches above the leaves. Leaves can grow up to 18 inches in diameter and the plant can grow to be around 5 feet tall. USDA ZONES 4-9. Lotus are winter hardy to Zone 4 when pots are below frost line.

Nelumbo sp. "Ben Gibson"" A lovely little Lotus with beautiful two-toned pink blossoms. The newer flowers have very pleasing dark veins in them. FLowers are double, long-lasting, and are held well above the leaves. Flowers are up to 6 inches in diameter, and the plant will grow to 4 feet tall. Excellent for small to medium sized ponds or in large containers. USDA ZONES 4-9. Lotus are winter hardy to Zone 4 when pots are below frost line.

Nelumbo sp. "Rosea Plena" An excellent choice for a small to medium sized pond. It is a generous bloomer that produces deep pink, double flowers. It is one of the best of the double Lotus. Leaves can grow to as much as 20 inches in diameter and are held on stems up to 5 feet tall. USDA ZONES 4-9. Lotus are winter hardy to Zone 4 when pots are below frost line.

Nelumbo sp. "Tulip Lotus" Medium size flowers are a delicate translucent white, simular to the shape of a Dutch tulip. USDA ZONES 4-9. Lotus are winter hardy to Zone 4 when pots are below frost line.
