Native American water lily also known as the Fragrant Water Lily, Alligator Bonnet or Beaver Root. Fragrant white flowers 2-4 inches across. Bright green leaves up to 6 inches across, with red underside. Plant spread of 3-5 feet. This is a parent of many familiar white and pink hybrids, most of which exhibit the characteristic red underside on the leaves, and almost all of which are sweetly fragrant. USDA ZONES 3-11.
